Mama sparrow must be exhausted. She’s been feeding her two little ones every 10-15 mintues in this 95 degree heat. She’s good at her job! She finds foods and returns on time. I’ve also observed her chasing away other sparrows who even come near her hotel. It’s an abandoned purple martin birdhouse with plenty of empty suites - but she’s claimed it - at least for now.
I’ve been watching them and noticed the little sparrow on the right is much more aggressive in getting food than the one on the left. I find myself cheering lefty when it does push through and gets some food.
She’s very alert too - always watching for predators.
After she’s goes - they wait sometimes impatiently for her return.
